What's happening here:

Gross McCleaf Gallery is pleased to present an artist talk with Ann Lofquist in her October exhibition at the gallery starting at 2pm.

New England painter Ann Lofquist explores the pastoral American landscape in large oil paintings, documenting the very real relationship between contemporary reality and those seemingly mythical settings depicted in famous 19th-century plein air paintings by George Innes and others.

Ann Lofquist received her Masters of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University in 1990. Since 1990, Lofquist has been Professor of Art at Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, where she resides. She has received many fellowships and awards and was recently included in a major review of contemporary landscape painters, The Artist and the American Landscape, by John Driscoll.
