Imagine bus shelters along Frankford Avenue displaying nothing but unique pieces of visual art and carrying the tagline Made in Fishtown. Looking closer, you find the words Created 100 feet from here. Now imagine this experience happening simultaneously in countless Philadelphia neighborhoods.
Made in Philly is a hyperlocal visual art initiative that, through a coordinated takeover of street-level advertising spaces throughout Philadelphia, produces a public art exhibition of local artists linking each work displayed to the neighborhood (even block) where it was created. Produced in conjunction with this year's Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, Made in Philly showcases the sheer quality and quantity of visual art being produced in the city through highly visible and strategic placement of artwork images on bus shelters, vacant storefronts, rail and subway platforms, broadsides, etc.

If you're a local artist or business, you could be featured in this campaign!
The Center for Emerging Visual Artists will be selecting artists from among those registered for the 2013 Open Studio Tours to participate in this campaign. There will be opportunities for placement of your artwork image(s) in major advertising spaces; chances to be included in special events and guided tours; new ways to connect with local businesses and small-scale local manufacturers; and plenty of press and publicity to go around! Register now for the 2013 Open Studio Tours to secure your place in this year's exciting program. We'll help you tell the world about what you make — right here in Philly.
